When I was 31, I gave birth to twins, quit my ad agency job and decided to stay home with my babies and start a portrait photography business.
I was scared to death (and probably a lil’ crazy). Within months, I’d emptied my family’s small savings account, working all the time and had nothing to show for it…
But I quickly turned it around once I realized that the way I was running my business as a photographer wasn’t going to give me the freedom to be home with my kids…. AND provide enough income to make my family’s lives better.
Shortly after, I was named one of Professional Photographers of America’s most profitable photographers. My boutique portrait photography studio has done nearly 6-figures every single year since it opened, in a cornfield in Springfield, Illinois.
