What a year 2017 was at both Sarah Petty Photography & the Joy of Marketing!

Andria (my studio manager) and I have been working out of our brand new building now for the better part of last year and we are enjoying every moment of it.

Our new studio features a North-facing natural light camera room, a gym for high school sports portraits and plenty of work space. Take a look:

We are so grateful to our devoted clients and it has been such a thrill to share our new space with them.

But gosh….

Back in 2016 when the lease was up on our old studio and our new studio was still being finished – we had to make sure our marketing was dialed in extra well so we could weather the transition.

Even when we finally moved into the new studio our marketing had to be on-point because we no longer had a convenient retail storefront. Our new studio is much more tucked away.

But our clients absolutely love the new studio…..and we’re kind of fond of it as well 😉

Reflecting back on the first year at our new studio, I thought I’d share with you my 9 favorite clients images from last year. Here they are:

We love a baby when they can sit up well but not quite crawl away yet, and this little guy was here at a perfect time to sit in our new Mid Century shell chair.

Kids in all stages deserve to be celebrated, tweens included. We love that moment when they can let go and share a sometimes elusive laugh for us to capture!

This family has done traditional portraits for many years, and decided to bring in the kids personal interests to their session this year. A memorable one and probably the loudest we had all year!;-)

A 20-Year Dream Finally Realized

It took me nearly 20 years to realize my dream of building my dream studio with my husband.

It didn’t happen overnight.

So if you’re reading this right now and thinking to yourself, “I’ll never have a studio like like.” or “That’s impossible for me.”

Just remember that 20 years ago, I was saying the exact same thing!

We all move at different paces.

But one thing I know is true….

If you’re patient and give yourself enough time.

And you push forward with turning your dreams into goals.

And adopt a “never give up” mentality…

You’ll eventually be living your dream just like I am today 🙂

Here’s to getting us closer to our dreams in 2018.
