Many of you have gone through a period of time where it feels like nothing is working in your business. At my three-day photography business event, Go Boutique Live, I shared these four steps to have your best day ever, inspired by Jim Rohn’s speech, The Day That Turns Your Life Around.

Whether your photography business is stuck in neutral or is starting to take off, these steps will help your business today.

#1 Be Disgusted

The first thing you need to turn your life around is disgust.

Jim Rohn interviewed a female executive and asked her,

“How did you get here?”

She said,

“I was a stay-at-home mom, and one day I asked my husband, ‘Hey, can I get 10 bucks?’ He looked at me and said, ‘For what?’ I made the decision that enough was enough.”

Are you disgusted that you spend so much emotional energy telling yourself that you aren’t a good enough photographer?

Today is the day you say “enough is enough.”

#2 Make Decisions

Have you ever missed an opportunity because you couldn’t make a decision?

A lot of times there isn’t a right or wrong decision.

Neither decision is exactly perfect, but the best entrepreneurs know that whatever they do will work out.

Imperfect action is better than perfect inaction.

Make decisions and get to work.

#3 Have Desire

Desire is wanting something badly.

How hard are you willing to work to get what you desire for your photography business?

What’s it going to take?

Being unmotivated is a terrible feeling.

Motivation is hard to find, so when you get it, hang on to it.

Take action when the feeling is strong.

Go all-in in your photography business.

#4 Have Resolve

Resolve is promising that you will never give up.

Are you interested only when it’s convenient or are you committed?

Choose commitment over convenience.

Seth Godin, one of my favorite marketing bloggers, had an awesome post lately on “Yet.”

Realize that when you try your best and fail, things will get better, even if they aren’t where you want them to be, YET.

Remind yourself that you haven’t achieved your goal yet.

I don’t know all of the steps yet.

I haven’t mastered that yet.

I haven’t built the life I want yet.

I’m choosing commitment over convenience because I haven’t done it yet.

Photographer, commit to yet.

Be disgusted enough to say that enough is enough.

Know that you have to make a decision that will move your business forward.

Understand that desire and motivation dosen’t come along every day.

Be ready to harness your excitement and run with it.

Choose commitment over convenience and remember that you haven’t done it yet.

Today is the day that can change your life around.

Episode 206 – 11 Tax Benefits Of A Photography Business

I've had a photography business since 1998, but I didn't start it for the tax benefits. I just knew I loved creating images, and it morphed into a business from there. Knowing what I know today, I will never not have a business because here in the United States, there...
